A History of Research Successes for Cats
Research funded by MAF has led to many of the medical breakthroughs that are now the gold standard in veterinary care. Since many feline diseases can be treated and easily managed if caught early, we've focused on improving diagnostics, preventions and treatments.
We've provided insight into infectious diseases, tested drugs for heart disease, improved pain management, and provided nutritional management of debilitating conditions. We're also studying feline overpopulation and behavior issues – the top reasons cats are euthanized.
